CLARINET PAGE

The clarinet is a popular instrument. This is not surprising, it sounds good, is small enough to carry around, yet a student model is comparatively inexpensive. Clarinets feature prominently in many types of music, from Mozart's Requiem, to Jazz,Blues and even pop music if you count Aker Bilks' Stranger On the Shore.

As well as the usual  "Bb model", there is a whole family of clarinets, all of which share the same fingering, and a similar technique. Once one is learned the others are fairly easy to pick up. The saxophone family too, shares much technique with the clarinet, and many players are proficient with members of both families.
